Typically on a standard wheel, the tire beads onto a smooth metal surface which has a higher potential for slip. With beadseat knurling, this creates raised and depressed plane that allow for the tire to bite onto a surface with significantly more grip. This is especially important for drag wheels, as the vehicle slams back down from a wheelie it undergoes a tremendous amount of tire flex and wheel stress. With the weight of the engine and torque of an accelerating vehicle, a tire that is improperly seated can be extremely dangerous.
HIGHER LOAD RATING
The new F14 Drag Wheels feature a higher load rating compared to current cast drag racing wheel standards. We designed our drag racing wheels to perform at a higher load rating while optimizing weight with our Rotary Forged process. As a result, vehicles are able to impose significantly more stress to the lighter Forgestar drag wheel compared to current cast drag wheels on the market.
Our state of the art bead knurling coupled with a reduced rolling resistance, reduced weight, and reduced aerodynamic drag creates a formula for high performance drag racing wheel. Often drag wheels can be overlooked as they donï¿½t produce any tangible power numbers.
